Sonu Nigam jumps into Ajay Devgn and Kiccha Sudeep’s language row, says ‘Nowhere in the constitution it is written that Hindi is our national language’ | Hindi Movie News – Bollywood

Following Ajay Devgn and Kiccha Sudeep’s war of words over Hindi being the national language, many celebrities from the film industry expressed their views on the issue. Now, the most recent one to join the bandwagon was singer Sonu Nigam. On the sidelines of an event, Sonu said that nowhere in the constitution it is written that Hindi is our national language. He also added that Hindi might be the most spoken language, but not the national language. In fact, Tamil is the oldest language and there is a debate between Sanskrit and Tamil. But, people say Tamil is the oldest language in the entire world. Sonu Nigam also pointed out that there are enough issues that need to be resolved with other nations and it is futile to initiate a new problem within the country. Now, talking about the debate, it all started when Ajay Devgn tweeted in Hindi and asked if Hindi is not our national language, why does Kiccha Sudeep release his films dubbed in Hindi. In response to the same, Sudeep replied that his words had been misinterpreted. He wrote, ‘And sir, I did understand the text you sent in Hindi. That’s only because we all have respected, loved and learnt Hindi. No offense sir, but was wondering what’d the situation be if my response was typed in Kannada!! Don’t we too belong to India, sir.” Kiccha Sudeep’s initial comments had been made in reaction to a series of South Indian films like ‘RRR’ and ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ outperforming Hindi films at the box office.
