The Moon Knight series finale trailer arrives teasing an epic conclusion of Marc Spector’s journey coming to grips with his powers. The Disney+ series marks the Marvel Cinematic Universe debut of the mercenary living with dissociative identity disorder who becomes the human conduit for the Egyptian moon god Khonshu. Moon Knight has mostly been set through the eyes of Marc’s alternate, mild-mannered gift shop employee Steven Grant, as he learns the truth of their identities and come up against dangerous cult leader Arthur Harrow, who seeks to cleanse the world by resurrecting the Egyptian goddess Ammit.
Oscar Isaac leads the cast of Moon Knight alongside Ethan Hawke as Harrow, May Calamawy, Karim El Hakim, Ann Akinjirin, David Ganly, Khalid Abdalla, Gaspard Ulliel and F. Murray Abraham as the voice of Khonshu. Development on a Moon Knight property has been in the works for decades, including Guardians of the Galaxy‘s James Gunn discussing a potential film with Marvel Studios producer Kevin Feige after his previously scrapped live-action debut in Blade: The Series. Moon Knight finally made its premiere on Disney+ at the end of March to mostly positive reviews from critics and audiences alike and after five exciting episodes, the series is gearing up for its explosive finale.
With just a few days remaining until its arrival, Marvel has unveiled the Moon Knight series finale trailer. The video shows Isaac’s Marc Spector eager to right the various wrongs he’s committed over the years and embrace his powers as the titular hero to put a stop to Arthur Harrow in an epic conclusion. Audiences have been on the edge regarding Moon Knight‘s story for the past two episodes since Isaac’s Marc Spector was seemingly shot and killed by Hawke’s Harrow in Ammit’s tomb, resulting in his landing in an ominous psychiatric hospital with Steven. Moon Knight episode 5 revealed this to be a form of limbo as the Egyptian goddess Taweret sailed with Marc and Steven through the Duat, the Egyptian afterlife, to determine whether they will be permitted into the paradise of the Field of Reeds by weighing their hearts on a scale. In order to balance the scales, the two looked back through many of Marc’s hidden memories, including his younger brother drowning, his abusive mother and the creation of Steven’s identity as a way for him to escape this abuse.
With Moon Knight episode 5 ending after Steven inadvertently sacrifices himself to save Marc and the latter subsequently getting into the Field of Reeds instead of back on Earth, like he had asked of Taweret. Given Harrow continues to be a threat to the world and the Moon Knight finale trailer teases a hard-hitting fight between the two atop a pyramid, many are sure to find themselves intrigued as to just how Marc will escape the paradise and who he may encounter before coming back to save the day. Only time will tell when Moon Knight episode 6 premieres on Disney+ on Wednesday.
