Johnny Zee dead, British singer, composer and actor of Indian descent

I cannot believe the legendary Taz also known as Johnny Zee (Tarsame Singh Saini) has passed away. He was a brilliant song writer, with such vibes of fusion that opened the gates to many singers. The below album was one of my favourite of his. Rest In Peace Taz.

Tarsame Singh Saini, also known as Taz Stereo Nation, formerly known as Johnny Zee, is a British singer, songwriter and actor of Indian origin. He is the lead singer of the pop group Stereo Nation formed in 1996. He is considered a pioneer in cross-cultural Asian fusion music.

Taz Stereo Nation passed away on April 30, 2022 at the age of 54.

He debuted at number one in 1989 with the album Hit the Deck, which spent more than 36 weeks at number one on the UK Asian pop chart. [citation needed] This album was produced by Tom Lowry. During the 1990s and early 2000s, he produced many successful albums. All but two of his albums to date have gone gold, platinum and multi-platinum. His most successful album to date is Slave II Fusion, released in 2000 and featuring some of his best known hits, including “Pyar Ho Gaya”, “Nachenge Saari Raat” and “Gallan Gorian”. In 2007, he made his film debut with “Don’t Stop Dreaming”, for which he also composed the soundtrack and provided backing vocals. In 2008, he returned with his new album Jawani on the Rocks. His hit singles from the album included “Meri Nazron Mein Tu Hain” and “Hai Hai Jawani”. In 2010, he released his album Twist & Shout, which was a success. The 2020 single “Galan Goriyan” starring Dhvani Bhanushali, a remake of the 2000 hit, has been viewed more than 10 million times on YouTube.
